Nurburgring GP Recap

GASCAR went to the Germany this week to celebrate with the newest 'Weltmiester' Sebastien Vettel.  Vettel, unfortunately, was unable to make the race. Ford enter the race with a commanding lead in the points along with a hope of locking up the championship with the double points.  Everyone was clustered in a group behind Ford hoping for a chance to chip away at his lead. The race started off eventfully enough with the first caution coming out on lap 2 after Top got into Ford causing no damage to either car.  Top, Mini, and Viking snuck into the pits as the race went green, and then yellow, allowing them to jump onto the bumpers of the leaders.  The race went green again with Super in the lead followed by Bad, Ford, Viking, Mini, and Top.  Top timed the restarted an went through a hole to get to first by the corner. Then the third caution came out.  Ford pitted as we went green and when in a deep hole back in 7th, after DJ broke, and needed some serious help to save his lead.  Viking, Top, and Mini battled for awhile at the top with Viking separated himself from the field with the most dominant car.  However Super had fallen back to Ford and together they were able to manufacture a caution to regrouping the field with 8 laps to go.  Viking got a great jump off the restart and was able to jump to a safe distance.  Top and Mini held the next two positions with Proof having jumped to 4th.  Ford trailed in 5th with Super behind him with a few laps to go.  The last few laps were very dicey in the back with Ford trying to scavenge whatever point he could.  Ford got around Proof but by this time Super had caught them.  No one with really sure what happened after that, but Proof was spun by Ford and Super took 4th.  Will Proof exact revenge on Ford? The Viking drove away and won be a comfortable 15 seconds followed by Top and Mini rounding out the podium.  Super lead the second pack with Ford, Proof, and Bad trailing. Ford's lead in the points is now just 3 over Viking with a cluster still within striking distance but needing some help.  The next race, was scheduled for Camino Viejo Extreme has been switched to Tsukuba after a unanimous vote from the team captains.
