FU NSA GP @ Suzuka

Last night the second and final double points race for GASCAR's Spring 2013 A Class Series was held at Suzuka. VinDoctor21 aka Boris Said once again took the poll in his bullet of a BMW M5. DJ wasn't far back in P2 and the other 8 drivers were trying to figure out how to get on the podium. Instink lagging out during qualifying put a very fast Mercedes 190E on the back of the grid.

The usual shuffle occurred on lap 1 while Vin tried to run away and hide. Mini moved to P2 Stauburst's "brave" move under braking going into the hairpin chicane off the back straightaway caused him to move off line. Mini went into the braking zone in P2 and came out of the chicane in P8.

The race settled down for the next several laps despite some very close racing from second through eighth. True to form for GASCAR a caution was eventually called. About half the field pitted declaring for a two stop strategy at that point. 

There were a couple of more cautions in the next six laps before Mini and TopFuelMan sensed an opportunity under green for pitting and running until the end around little traffic. It was all setting up well until Instink mysteriously slowed and turned left in front of Mini in the esses bringing out another caution. So much for strategy.

The next six laps brought about some furious racing and lack of respect between teammates(Ford!). VinDoctor pulled away for the win with DJ and TopFuelMan rounding out the podium. 

Going into the race at Road America on Friday, 6/14, at 11pmET TopFuel will look to mathematically clinch his fourth GASCAR title while Ford and Mini will try to narrow the gap.
